That uncomfortable sensation that food you have eaten is just not moving we call Food Stagnation in Chinese Medicine. It usually comes from overeating, especially foods that are difficult to digest like dairy, greasy foods and sugar. Cold foods can also contribute to food stagnation. So diets of just salads and fruits are not advised in Chinese medicine. Symptoms of food stagnation include abdominal pain, bloating, gas, constipation, and acid reflux. Here are some of the foods that are recommended in treating Food Stagnation. So reduce the size of your meals and try adding one or two of these foods and find out if they’re helpful for you!
Fruits such as green apples, pineapple, orange peel, lemons and limes.
Vegetables like cucumber, lettuce, watercress, mustard greens, and celery.
Spices like basil, cardamon, coriander, parsley, garlic and hawthorn berry.
Buckwheat and wheat bran are useful grains.
Try drinking green tea, Oolong tea, Hawthorne berry tea, raspberry leaf tea.
Vinegars help the digestion as well.
